Last night was the British Arrows Craft Awards and for Rogue it was an extra special occasion - not only was Rogue nominated but it was the first year with our very own Charlie Crompton as the new chair.
Needless to say all eyes were on him…did he pull it off? Of course he did, but don't believe us. Check out this debrief of the evening by Jason Stone on David Reviews. CLICK HERE
Charlie, always one to shake things up, swapped out "the polished slickness of a professional comedian for a significantly more intimate approach" by presenting it himself with Jury Chair Sally Campbell.
The result? Well as Jason says, "Did they deliver? Heck, yeah! Between Crompton's posh gameness and Campbell's antipodean directness, they kept things ticking over nicely. All joking aside, having the ceremony presided over by a comedian with little love for the advertising industry always introduces an unwelcome distantness and its absence provided a considerable relief.
Kudos to Crompton, Campbell and the faultless Janey de Nordwall - pulling the strings from the sidelines - for putting it all together."
Of course it wasn't only Charlie who was the big winner of the night; Lloyds 'For Your Next Step' won Gold for in-camera effects and Silver for 'Achievement in Production'. A huge congratulations to Sam Brown and James Howland. Check out the work below.
We're going to sit very quietly in the office today nursing our well earned success…
Until next time.
